Entry #10 Too Good At Goodbyes  Hey guys, welcome back :)  As I'm sure you all know, the semesters finally coming to an end (woot woot *throws confetti*). But unfortunately, that means blogging is coming to an end as well :/ (unwoot unwoot *picks up confetti*). So I'd thought it would only be appropriate for the final blog to be a reflection type of thing, you know? A quick recap of the semester, and a solid goodbye to blogging :) When I first started blogging, I highly doubted that I'd actually like it. I'm a reader, not a writer. But why was this actually kind of fun? I mean all I really did was just talk. It wasn't too complicated or time consuming, it doesn't take a million resources, you can write them literally whenever, and I honestly really enjoyed it. Just voicing my thoughts and opinions on random topics, and then reading other people's thoughts and opinions on those same topics. It was almost therapeutic for me, you know? I loved how it highlight...

Entry #9: Topics in food quests  Hey guys, welcome back :) As you read in the title, this weeks' topic is in food quests, so let's get into it! I was searching for a while before I finally saw an ad that caught my eye. Once this image appeared on my screen, I knew I couldn't ignore it. What I really appreciate about this ad is the fact that it has two potential meanings; 1. The issue of food waste, and 2. The issue of food health.  The image above displays what is meant to look like a burger. However, each component of this "burger" is actually made of garbage. I really enjoyed the imagery in the ad as it not symbolizes the problems we have with food waste in America, but it also highlights the truth about what we're really putting into our bodies; trash. Several life-threatening diseases have all been linked to the consumption of fast food. It honestly blows my mind that this is even a controversial topic. There are just so many articles, documentaries, book...

ENTRY #8: Poetry Hey guys, welcome baack :)  Do you ever think about how insane reading is? I mean like really think about it. Our brains scan these symbols and it allows us to imagine people and places that make us feel things, crazy right? I love it. I absolutely love it. I'm a pretty good writer myself, not the best, but not the worst either. I'm definitely more of a reader than a writer, but I feel like the two go hand-in-hand, you know? I wrote a poem my senior year of high-school, but the only person who read it was my teacher, so I though I'd share it here as well because why not?  Count It All Joy Count it all joy through your trials and tribulations Face them with patience Build your endurance   Let your courage pull you through em’ with prudence  The powers undisputed, refute it Take it apart, analyze it, prove it It’s written untampered with  Supreme in wisdom arithmetic How do I know and bear this witness? What entitles me to spit this? Could i...

Entry 7: F R E S H  Hey guys, welcome back :)  So I recently watched a documentary called "Fresh," and it was SO interesting. There was so much information on food sustainability, the cost of food, food production, farmer's markets, the economic connection, and so much more. I'm not going to lie, a lot of the information in the documentary was already known to me.  My dad's a Muslim, and before he and my mom got divorced, he had all these rules about what my siblings and I were and weren't allowed to eat. I remember growing up, we weren't allowed to eat pork, Takis/Hot Cheetos, dark sodas, Lunchables, marshmallows, gummy candy, skittles, starburst, rice kripsy treats, some peanut-butters/jellies, pop tarts, shrimp, the list goes on. Even certain cereals were prohibited in my house. Honestly, anything containing gelatin, high levels of high fructose corn syrup, or pork was immediately banned in my household. We weren't allowed to use the microwave beca...

Entry #6: What time is it?  Hi guys, welcome back :) I hope everyone had a great Halloweekend! I'm a major homebody, so I didn't do much... I actually didn't do anything. I swear it's like I'm allergic to leaving my house, but still, super excited for halloween!  Anyways, back to the blog. Do you guys ever think about where you'll be 10 years from now? I'm not sure how many of you use snapchat, but do you guys every get those "2, 3, 4, 5+ years ago" notifications that show you what you were doing years ago on that very day? Those random notifications always give me the most unexpected wakeup calls. Every time I see what I was doing years ago, I always think about how I never expected myself to be where I am now. Crazy how time works. It just keeps passing regardless of what's going on. It has no mercy for anyone, and doesn't pause or stop under any circumstances. Insane, right? My mother used to always tell me that "time waits for n...

Entry #5: Mayhem Hi guys, welcome back! :) This week, we're going to analyze some ads, this is the ad I chose ↑ so let's get started!  For starters, I definitely feel like the author wanted the audience to feel a some form of anxiety, and then relief immediately after. The ad begins with a man saying he's your cat, and then beginning to act as if he genuinely was; he smacks his owners hand, drops toys on his face, and even turned the tap on and left it. As someone with a cat, I feel like this is a pretty accurate example of how cats act. I remember one time, my cat (Nova and/or Lunar) started the dishwasher and had it running the entire time I was gone. Another time, one of em' clawed my silk curtains to SHREDS. The most recent time, Lunar left 2 dead birds sitting on my doorstep. Yep, that was a fun one. I know he meant well, but still😷 But anyways, back to the ad. The man then leaves the tap on for the rest of the video. At this point, you can pretty much suspect wh...

Blog Entry #4: Tis the season!  Hey guys! :) It's officially holiday season and can I just be the first that SO excited! I know when people hear the term 'tis the season', they automatically think of Christmas. But when I say tis the season, I'm talking about everyday between now, and January 1st.  It's no secret that we've officially entered the most wonderful time of the year (again, not specifically a Christmas reference), and this is not up for debate. From October 1st - January 2nd, we're ALL at our happiest! The other horror-lovers and I get to relish in the spooky season; Pumpkins, Coraline, haunted houses, horror movies, Coraline, corn mazes, costumes, caramel apples, Coraline, ghost stories, spiced drinks, bonfires, trick-or-treating, and did I mention Coraline?? Halloween is arguably the best holiday ever! I mean, just watch these videos. There's no way they didn't just ignite a fire in your heart!  The best part about this time of year is ...
